Kay Stringham
SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR
Hello. My name is Kay and I am so glad you have come. Welcome! As you look through my site you will find information about Spiritual Direction. Sometimes it's helpful to have a companion on your spiritual journey, someone who has traveled the spiritual journey and can notice things you cannot see and hear nuances of grace that you are unable to discern. I invite you to find out more about Spiritual Direction.
WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?
In the life of faith, questions often arise. You may be in a difficult place, trying to make sense of events in your life and where God is present in them. You find yourself tired and weary in your service, feeling dry and unfulfilled. God may feel absent or far away. Sometimes the ways you have long connected with God seem to not be working anymore. You long for something more.
It is difficult to find someone to whom we can talk about our deep longings, questions and uncertainties. Who will really listen? Who will walk with you, wait with you, be with you as you wait?
A spiritual director is a trained listener and companion who is well acquainted with the spiritual journey. They will walk with you, observing and asking questions. They will aid you in discerning your next steps, remind you of God’s presence and celebrate with you at what God is doing.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Appointments are availabe in person and on Zoom. Generally we will meet for an hour once a month. During our time together, you can talk about whatever is on your heart. Spiritual Direction is a safe space reserved for you to talk about God and how He is (or seems to not be) working in your life. Our time together is held in confidence. I will listen attentively, making observations and asking questions. We will spend time listening to God, aware that He is present in our sessions.
"Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God..." Psalm 46:10 MSG
Sessions are $90 and discounts are available. Payment is accepted by check, Venmo, and Square.

You are struggling through a transition.
The ways the you've always connected with God don't seem to be working anymore.
You feel stuck and God seems distant.
You are spiritually dry and weary.
You are finding that your past is still affecting you - especially your spiritual life - and you are longing for healing.
You desire a safe place to share your doubts, fears and questions.
You want to find God's purpose for you.
Life is overwhelming.
You know about Jesus but long to move that from your head to your heart.
It's important to note that spiritual direction is not therapy, but provides a safe, hospitable place for you to ask questions, express doubts, find discernment and deepen your relationship with God.

TESTIMONIALS
Kay Stringham is a caring and wise spiritual director. She listens well to those she is guiding and has a depth of spiritual and emotional maturity to impart to others and help them hear what God may be saying to them. Her many years of experience in ministry has helped me to navigate my own journey and calling to full time pastoral work.
Pastor Cathy Bruce, Reformed Church of Shawangunk, Wallkill NY
Spiritual Direction has truly been an answer to prayer. I desired to have a safe place to discover what God was teaching me, encounter Him on a deeper level. I wanted to gain clairty through the process of my circumstances rather than someone simply telling me what I should do. Kay has been an incredible, safe place who does this exactly - inviting Jesus into our conversations, seeking Him alongside me, and guiding me through the process with questions to discover what He could be unveiling to me through my present experience.
You will leave each session feeling lighter, encouraged, supported and with a peace that helps you slow down and focus on Jesus.
